The South Asian Empowerment Coalition
I founded an organization where my team and I taught bi-monthly financial literacy workshops to a cohort of 20 women. We held cultural events to raise awareness on stigmas around body image, sexual health and other taboo topics specifically talking about the South Asian community. I also created and implemented the entire PR and marketing strategy while publishing content on social media accounts.

As Editor In Chief, I compiled, edited, and put together in our magazine issue all the articles submitted to the organization. I supervised a team of 10 people and wrote copy for digital platforms. I also taught bi-weekly creative writing workshops to college students.

I gave multiple presentations on various human rights abuses and issues around the world. I wrote and edited 10 policy reports detailing human rights issues in Sub-Saharan African, Latin America, and the Middle East. I coordinated with the media team to restructure the website and improve user traffic.

I worked under the Communications Director writing 400-600 word news articles that were published daily for an audience of 50,000 weekly readers. I attended multiple meetings and Congressional hearings on Capitol Hill. I developed communication materials like policy memos, press releases, Twitter posts and compiled program reports. Human Rights Campaign
I organized meetings with canvassers, employees, and local LGBTQ organizations. I fundraised over 2k on a weekly basis while lobbying for the Equality Bill to be passed by Congress. I also educated community members on LGBTQ+ discrimination and rights.
